Tonight’s bear discussion has been postponed. Instead, join Eddie Valero and others for a discussion of storm preparedness either in person at 6pm in the Memorial Building or virtually via a Microsoft Teams Meeting.
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks to close at 6pm Thursday 9 March. Additional updates, including timeframes for reopening, will be issued as information becomes available.
Park employees are actively working on storm preparedness in the parks, but Clay and his team are also concerned for what impacts may look like in our local communities. They are providing some additional information to help keep us all informed.
Join fellow sand bag partiers at Fire Station 14 between 9am and noon on Thursday 9 March. The fire station is on the corner of the highway and South Fork Drive at 41412 S Fork Dr, Three Rivers, CA 9327. We will be helping our neighbors by filling sand bags and delivering them.
The Ash Mountain entrance to Sequoia National Park is anticipated to close on Thursday, March 9 at 6 pm. Closures may occur throughout Kings Canyon National Park depending upon how the weather system unfolds.
In preparation for what could be a major flooding event, please take the time to pack your Go-bag, (and don’t forget your animals).
