Tulare County Library’s annual Winter Reading Challenge: Stories Under the Stars runs from Tuesday, January 2, 2024, through Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The Challenge is for all ages, languages, and reading levels. Children ages 0-5 years are encouraged to read 10 books this winter by themselves or with a parent. Everyone else, Kids, Teens, and Adults, are encouraged to read 10 days or more.

On 24 October 2023 at its 9am meeting, the Tulare County Board of Supervisors will hear an agenda item pertaining to short-term rentals in Three Rivers. Stakeholders may provide feedback at the meeting. If, however, stakeholders cannot attend, they may submit feedback via email. Because the agenda has not yet been finalized, the process for providing feedback in the short-term differs from the process for providing feedback after finalization of the agenda. On September 12, 2023 the Tulare County Library will begin offering expanded hours. This is another step in responding to our communities’ request for library services and additional hours. The Three Rivers Branch Library will be open until 7pm on Thursday.

Roads and facilities in the parks have been badly damaged by the recent major winter storms, beginning with a weather event in early January and followed by a succession of weather events in March. Park officials stress that there are still many unknowns that are likely to change these dates, and plan to issue regular updates to their projections.
