Substantial portions of the Generals Highway and Mineral King Road remain closed while crews address highest-priority issues and staff works to secure emergency funding for full repairs.

The Generals Highway is closed at Hospital Rock. The road is compromised at three locations between Hospital Rock and Giant Forest. The crews are working hard to minimize further damage from this weekend’s double header storm.

The Mineral King Road is substantially damaged starting at mile 8.5 and is closed to all vehicular traffic at the park gate. We are strongly encouraged not to risk our lives or risk being caught behind a blowout at this time as a rapid rescue may not be possible.
