Tulare County Emergency Repair Program
Financing to Repair Eligible Homes Needing Essential Health and Safety Repairs
This program provides financing to repair income-eligible and owner-occupied homes needing essential health and/or safety repairs. This program is specifically for properties located in the unincorporated areas of Tulare County. Homeowners must have homeowners’ insurance and current property taxes. Provides grant not to exceed $30,000.
Eligible repairs include:
- Emergency Home Repairs – provides funding to homeowners for repair or replacement of a major household component that would require the homeowner to live without basic plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, or security.
- Roofing Repair and Replacement – provides funding to homeowners for the repair or replacement of a roof.
- Minor Home Repair – provides funding to homeowners with problems related to enforcing government codes, ordinances, or requirements that, due to financial hardship, the owner cannot correct these violations, including those that threaten a family’s health, general well-being, or safety.
- Lead-Based Paint Removal – provides funding to test and abate owner-occupied homes that test positive for Lead-Based Paint.
