Case Mountain Area Reopens
All Trails and Roads in Skyline, Salt Creek, Case Mountain, and Milk Ranch Areas are Open
All the BLM roads and trails in the areas locally known as Skyline, Salt Creek, Case Mountain, and Milk Ranch have been reopened. This closure was in place for public and firefighter safety in relation to the Coffeepot Fire and management of that fire.
From Bureau of Land Management:
Action: Effective September 21, 2024, the Bureau of Land Management is rescinding the emergency closure of BLM Lands associated with the [Coffeepot] Fire. Once rescinded all public lands described below will be open to the public. This closure was in place for public and firefighter safety in relation to the [Coffeepot] Fire and management of that fire.
Affected Area: Case Mountain Extensive Recreation Management Area, which is approximately 20,000 acres of BLM-managed public land located near the town of Three Rivers, in Tulare County, south of State Route198. This [area] includes the Kaweah Area of Critical Environmental Concern and the Milk Ranch Peak Wilderness Study Area.
Dates: This order is effective immediately.
