Ground-breaking women (and a mic-stealing marmot). Sasha Khokha of public radio’s California Report visited Mineral King to interview local archaeologist Laile Di Silvestro. Despite an adventure with a marmot who stole her microphone, she was able to create a 16-minute audio tale that highlights the unique women who mined in Mineral King in the 1870s, along with a short article and an amusing video.
