Tenth Annual Dark Sky Festival
September 9, 2023
Join the Sequoia Parks Conservancy this weekend for an extraordinary celestial celebration! The Dark Sky Festival, hosted by Sequoia Parks Conservancy in partnership with the National Park Service, is returning to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on September 9, 2023. Immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty of the night sky and discover the importance of preserving our dark skies. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, famous for their towering sequoia trees and stunning vistas, offer some of the darkest skies in the U.S., creating an unforgettable experience for visitors and stargazers. While regular park entry fees apply, festival activities and speaker sessions are free and open to all. Delve into astronomy, connect with experts, and learn about light pollution reduction. The festival will conclude with star parties in areas throughout the parks, including Wuksachi near Lodgepole and Big Stump in Grant Grove.
See you under the stars!
