With California’s unpredictable precipitation, it is time for a new landscape model that will work in the Central Valley’s hot, arid climate. California native plants not only use a fraction of the resources that typical gardens do, they are beautiful, colorful & wildlife-attracting.
With a plan in place, you can landscape your garden in manageable steps. It’s an opportunity to transition from a higher care, water indulgent garden into a natural, sustainable low water use, beautiful
In this class, designed for native plant novices, we will demonstrate how to:
- Ditch your lawn and incorporate drought-adapted native plants
- Tried and true native plants for this climate
- Combine plants for maximum effect
- Design your own native garden (we’ll supply designing materials)
STUDENT WILL PROVIDE: Site dimensions, exposure, orientation & exposure, pictures(help!) of areas of concern, soil sample & your own lunch.
