1st Saturday in Three Rivers!

February 3 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

 Food * Fun* Fabulous Art

EVERY 1st SATURDAY, the artists, restaurants and merchants of Three Rivers, California, open their doors and invite you to join in a town-wide celebration from 11 to 5 o’clock (unless otherwise stated on Blog and Map). You can pick up a map and schedule at Kaweah Arts and the Three Rivers Historical Museum – the map shows all participating venues, art to see, locations and times for special events.

It’s time for Food, Fun and Fabulous Art celebrating 1st Saturday in Three Rivers, February 3, 2024 from 10 to 4! Please note the change in hours for the winter months. There is no one featured artist this month, instead we are featuring a venue with 8 artists, including a free Make-and-Take Class. All locations are indoors so don’t let a little rain hold you back. Come and find that special gift for your Valentine!

Our Featured Venue is the Presbyterian Church. There you will find Bertha Garza offering her wonderful Dazzling Dreams Natural Skin Care Products. Two nature photographers whose work is quite different are Scott Reinhardt with his stunning photography of the natural world and Nature Photographer, Lace Montgomery conveying the beauty of the outdoors through her photos. Elizabeth Mitchell makes beautiful jewelry that is very different than most using a style called bead embroidery or raised textured beading. Discover the crochet talent of art student Ella Hays who makes whimsical crocheted creations. Also joining us for the first time is Ariana Noelke with her screen printing which she uses to make housewares, apparel and trinkets that let you celebrate nature in your every day life. If you want to have fun making art yourself, Nancy Brunson will guide you as you create a one-of-a-kind custom Valentine’s Day gift. It’s a free make and take class that’s first come, first served. There may even be one or two more artists at the church.

Up on the South Fork is my studio, Handweaving by Nikki where I have 6 looms and lots of colorful yarns. I have new handwoven items including towels, scarves, shawls and Mug Rugs.

Hearts Open and Year of the Dragon community art show at Cort Gallery will feature local artists’ work. Special activities all day will include a pot luck from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. For some extra fun, starting at 2:00 p.m., join in the fun as Diana Glass leads folks in a sing-along.

Three Rivers Historical Museum has a gift shop and books by local authors.  Don’t miss their new Native Voices exhibit!  PUBLIC RESTROOMS are also available at the Museum.

Try the newest place in town to eat: Tony’s Taverna on Wheels, serving fresh authentic Greek Food from their food truck in the parking lot of the Museum. Totem Market and Gifts (8 am to 8 pm) is where you can pick up BBQ & Beer and visit a Wine Tasting Bar. Last but certainly not least, a visit to Three Rivers is not complete without stopping at Reimer’s Candies and Gifts for some specially made candy and ice cream.

In case you are wondering, Kaweah Arts will not be open this month only since the shop is closed until reopening in a new location next month.

Maps with addresses and more information are available for you to pick up at the Historical Museum. Remember that the map will also contain QR codes that link to more information about each location to help you plan your 1st Saturday experience. More information can be found on our website: www.1stSaturdayTR.com where you will soon be able to download a map.
