Happy New Year! It’s time for Food, Fun and Fabulous Art celebrating 1st Saturday in Three Rivers on January 4, 2025 from 11 to 5! Was there something you wanted for Christmas that you didn’t get? Our artists are here to help you fulfill that desire. There is no one featured artist this month. The participating artists do hope that you will make the effort to see what they have to offer.
At Community Presbyterian Church’s Harrison Hall, we have artists who will delight you with their various talents. You can count on Bertha Garza being there offering her wonderful Dazzling Dreams Natural Skin Care Products. See how Nature photographer, Lace Montgomery conveys the beauty of the outdoors through her photos. Also at the church is Scott Reinhardt who is a wildlife biologist who achieves stunning photographs of the natural world. Ella Hays crochets THE most delightful creatures! Kacey Fansett has prepared a craft for you make on your own: a calendar for the new year. This is a free make and take craft. For some fun, visit Correy McGlyn who creates personal, on the spot poems using a typewriter.
Nearby is Shirley Keller at Spirit Hill Meditation Garden & Art Studio. Here you can see her dot art and learn about her 2 published books. Shirley invites you to sit and relax in the Meditation Garden while you are there.
For a delightful time, visit Linda Dumont at her Fairy Godmother’s Enchanted Cottage with her chakras, wands, healing mandalas and sculptures. While you are there, be sure to enjoy Paintings and Garden Art by David Ramirez. This location will close at 4:00 p.m.
Visit Steve and Christy Wood at Wood ‘N’ Horse Studio. Local author Christy Wood has published another book! Her latest book is “Hoofprints Across Time: A Trail Ride to Remember”. Signed copies of several of Christy’s books will be available as well as Steve’s outstanding horseshoe art. Pony rides will also be available.
James Weaver sells honey in its raw form. It is local and of high quality. He will be at the Village Green between the Village Market and Casa Mendoza.
Nancy Brunson’s shop, Kaweah Arts, at “The Dome”, offers art of all kinds, much of which is made by the artists you can meet on 1st Saturday. My Handweaving by Nikki studio will not be open but many of my handwoven items are available at Kaweah Arts along with the handmade art of many of our other artists. Cort Gallery offers the work of several artists.
Three Rivers Historical Museum has a gift shop and books by local authors. Don’t miss their new Native Voices exhibit! PUBLIC RESTROOMS are also available at the Museum.
Try the newest place in town to eat: Tony’s Taverna on Wheels, serving fresh authentic Greek Food from their food truck in the parking lot of the Museum. At Totem Market and Gifts (8 am to 8 pm) is where you can pick up BBQ & Beer and visit a Wine Tasting Bar. Last but certainly not least, a visit to Three Rivers is not complete without stopping at Reimer’s Candies and Gifts for some specially made candy and ice cream.
Maps with addresses and more information are available for you to pick up at the Historical Museum or Kaweah Arts. Remember that the map will also contain QR codes that link to more information about each location to help you plan your 1st Saturday experience. More information can be found on our website: www.1stSaturdayTR.com where you will soon be able to download a map.
