1st Saturday in Three Rivers!

April 6 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

 Food * Fun* Fabulous Art

EVERY 1st SATURDAY, the artists, restaurants and merchants of Three Rivers, California, open their doors and invite you to join in a town-wide celebration from 11 to 5 o’clock (unless otherwise stated on Blog and Map). You can pick up a map and schedule at Kaweah Arts and the Three Rivers Historical Museum – the map shows all participating venues, art to see, locations and times for special events.

It’s time for Food, Fun and Fabulous Art celebrating 1st Saturday in Three Rivers, April 6, 2024 from 10 to 4! We are still using our winter hours this month. Our Featured Artist this month is the very popular Lace Montgomery with her wonderful photos which convey the beauty of the outdoors. You will find her at the Art Center.

Lots more activity will be at the Art Center with artists such as Nature Photographer, Lace Montgomery conveying the beauty of the outdoors through her photos and Bertha Garza offering her wonderful Dazzling Dreams Natural Skin Care Products. Don’t miss Correy McGlyn who creates personal, on the spot poems using a typewriter. Discover the crochet talent of art student Ella Hays who makes whimsical crocheted creations.  We are pleased to welcome back Scott Reinhardt with his stunning photography of the natural world. Elizabeth Mitchell makes beautiful jewelry that is very different than most using a style called bead embroidery or raised textured beading.  A free Make & Take Craft will be set up for you to make your own interesting creations.

I hope you will join me on the South Fork in my studio, Handweaving by Nikki where I have 6 looms and lots of colorful yarns. I have new handwoven items including towels, scarves, shawls and Mug Rugs.Just down the road from me you will find River Water Pottery Studio & Gallery where Anne & HJ Brown make their beautiful handmade pottery. Here you will also find Jami Beck with jewelry, gourds & Macramé items.

Don’t miss Shirley Keller at Spirit Hill Meditation Garden & Art Studio to see her dot art and learn about her 2 published books. Shirley invites you to sit and relax in the Meditation Garden while you are there. For a delightful time, visit Linda Dumont at her Fairy Godmother’s Enchanted Cottage with her chakras, wands, healing mandalas and sculptures.  Meet native plant expert, Melanie Keeley at Alta Vista Nursery on August Drive to find unique climate-adapted native plants. Have your questions ready for Melanie.

Noelle Charles is hosting a Community art show at Cort Gallery which will feature local artists’ work. For some extra fun, starting at 2:00 p.m., join in the fun as Diana Glass leads folks in a sing-along indoors at Splendor In The Grass.  At Royal Gardens, Kayla Pace will offer succulents for your garden. While you are there, you can enjoy Paintings and Garden Art by David Ramirez.

Nancy Brunson has re-opened her shop, Kaweah Arts, in its new location called “The Dome”.  She offers art of all kinds, much of which is made by the artists you can meet on 1st Saturday.  Be sure to stop in and see this delightful building full of art of all kinds.

Three Rivers Historical Museum has a gift shop and books by local authors.  Don’t miss their new Native Voices exhibit!  PUBLIC RESTROOMS are also available at the Museum.

Try the newest place in town to eat: Tony’s Taverna on Wheels, serving fresh authentic Greek Food from their food truck in the parking lot of the Museum (my opinion: best cheese burgers in town). Totem Market and Gifts (8 am to 8 pm) is where you can pick up BBQ & Beer and visit a Wine Tasting Bar. Last but certainly not least, a visit to Three Rivers is not complete without stopping at Reimer’s Candies and Gifts for some specially made candy and ice cream.

Maps with addresses and more information are available for you to pick up at the Historical Museum. Remember that the map will also contain QR codes that link to more information about each location to help you plan your 1st Saturday experience. More information can be found on our website: www.1stSaturdayTR.com where you will soon be able to download a map. I hope to see you Saturday!
