1st Saturday in Three Rivers!
September 7 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
It’s time for Food, Fun and Fabulous Art celebrating September 7, 2024 from 11 to 5! Ella Hays is the Featured Artist this month. You will find her in the air conditioned Harrison Hall at Community Presbyterian Church. Ella crochets THE most delightful creatures! Just holding and squeezing one will make you laugh with joy!
Also at Harrison Hall at the Presbyterian Church, we have artists who will delight you with their various talents. Bertha Garza offers her wonderful Dazzling Dreams Natural Skin Care Products and Nature photographer, Lace Montgomery conveying the beauty of the outdoors through her photos. If you are feeling artistic yourself, Kacey Fansett will provide a Free Make & Take Class doing tie-dye.
Several studios will be open. My Handweaving by Nikki, up on the South Fork, is where I have 6 looms, each with a different project. I will offer new handwoven towels, shawls, Mug Rugs and other creations. Just down the road from me on the South Fork is the ever-popular River Water Pottery Studio & Gallery where Anne & HJ Brown make their beautiful handmade pottery. Be sure and ask to see HJ’s stunning photographs. They will amaze you! Here you will also find Jami Beck with delightful jewelry, gourds & Macramé items.
Visit Shirley Keller at Spirit Hill Meditation Garden & Art Studio to see her dot art and learn about her 2 published books. Shirley invites you to sit and relax in the Meditation Garden while you are there. At Faery Godmother’s Enchanted Cottage you can enjoy Paintings and Garden Art by David Ramirez and a variety of Wire-Wrapped Jewelry by Allen Casselman. This month, Linda DuMont, the Faery Godmother herself will not be participating.
Nancy Brunson has re-opened her shop, Kaweah Arts, in its new location called “The Dome”. She offers art of all kinds, much of which is made by the artists you can meet on 1st Saturday. Be sure to stop in and see this delightful building full of art of all kinds.
Three Rivers Historical Museum has a gift shop and books by local authors. Don’t miss their new Native Voices exhibit! PUBLIC RESTROOMS are also available at the Museum.
Try the newest place in town to eat: Tony’s Taverna on Wheels, serving fresh authentic Greek Food from their food truck in the parking lot of the Museum. Totem Market and Gifts (8 am to 8 pm) is where you can pick up BBQ & Beer and visit a Wine Tasting Bar. Last but certainly not least, a visit to Three Rivers is not complete without stopping at Reimer’s Candies and Gifts for some specially made candy and ice cream.
Maps with addresses and more information are available for you to pick up at the Historical Museum or Kaweah Arts. Remember that the map will also contain QR codes that link to more information about each location to help you plan your 1st Saturday experience.
