1st Saturday in Three Rivers!
July 1, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Food * Fun* Fabulous Art
EVERY 1st SATURDAY, the artists, restaurants and merchants of Three Rivers, California, open their doors and invite you to join in a town-wide celebration from 11 to 5 o’clock (unless otherwise stated on Blog and Map). You can pick up a map and schedule at Kaweah Arts and the Three Rivers Historical Museum – the map shows all participating venues, art to see, locations and times for special events.
It’s time for Food, Fun and Fabulous Art celebrating 1st Saturday in Three Rivers, July 1, 2023 from 11 to 5! Summer is here and it’s heating up but most of our locations are cooled. Our Featured Artist is David Ramirez who will be at the Presbyterian Church’s Harrison Hall where you can enjoy his paintings and repurposed wood. David makes small curiosities, garden art, and things like door knockers and small tables.
Also at the Presbyterian Church you can meet Bertha Garza offering her wonderful Dazzling Dreams Natural Skin Care Products; Correy McGlyn who creates personal, on the spot poems using a typewriter; Allen Casselman, creator of enchanting wire wrapped jewelry using rocks and crystals that he collects and Lace Montgomery a nature photographer, conveying the beauty of the outdoors through her photos. PLUS…Kacey Fansett will be showing you how to paint with watercolor. Kacey supplies everything you need to create your own little painting. Kacey’s lessons are first come, first served (limited space) and FREE.
We have several studios open in various parts of town. My Handweaving by Nikki, on South Fork, is where I have 6 looms, each with a different project. I will offer new handwoven towels, shawls, Mug Rugs and other creations. Just down the road before you get to me is the ever-popular River Water Pottery Studio & Gallery where Anne & HJ Brown make their beautiful handmade pottery. Here you will also find Jami Beck with jewelry, gourds & Macramé items. Visit Shirley Keller at Spirit Hill Meditation Garden & Art Studio to see her dot art and learn about her 2 published books. Shirley invites you to sit and relax in the Meditation Garden while you are there.
Some of our businesses have joined us in the celebration. Nancy Brunson of Kaweah Arts, where you will find the art of 50+ artists, invites you to stop in and spend some time discovering what the artists have to offer. Three Rivers Historical Museum has a gift shop and books by local authors. PUBLIC RESTROOMS are also available at the Museum.
Have you been to Kaweah Coffee Roasters yet? They serve artisan coffee and other delicious beverages as well as their wonderful breakfast and lunch options, too! Here you will have the pleasure to meet Matt Arnett who creates art with wood and metal to make mobiles and trees. Greg Gray, a renowned Three Rivers photographer and media specialist offering services in portrait, real estate, drone, and commercial photography as well as videography will also be at Kaweah Coffee Roasters.
Totem Market and Gifts (8 am to 8 pm) is where you can pick up BBQ & Beer and visit a Wine Tasting Bar. Last but certainly not least, a visit to Three Rivers is not complete without stopping at Reimer’s Candies and Gifts for some specially made candy and ice cream.
Maps with addresses and more information are available for you to pick up at Kaweah Arts and the Historical Museum. More information can be found on our website: www.1stSaturdayTR.com where you can also download a map. I look forward to seeing you this Saturday.
